Post-OP Recovery

Abbey's still in recovery, but only because they haven't yet found a bed for her.

I spent a couple of hours with her this afternoon. She's in good spirits, although quite sore from the surgery. The surgery required three "small" incisions. I take that to mean a couple of stitches each. They did deflate her right lung in the process, but this was expected.

She's resting now and anxious to get into a room.

  1. Glad to hear you were able to see abbey and the docter had such a positive attitude. Have a couple of messages to send from you e-mail we senmt to some people.

    We are really sorry to hear about Abbey. If it is any consolation to you and the family, I would like to share that I was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma on July 15, 1989. Yes, I just celebrated my 19th anniversary as a cancer survivor. I still go to a Support Group twice a month and I highly recommend it. It is helpful and hopeful to meet other cancer patients and long term survivors.
    If there is anything I can do please let me know and in the mean time, the coffee is always on.....

    Our love, thoughts and prayers are with you all.

  7. Woot great to hear the doc is so upbeat on the diagnosis. And considering it's Abbey, I know she's stubborn enough to not let anything get the best of her ;)

  8. I am so happy to hear about the surgeon's comments and really thankful that you took the time to set up a blog where we can all check for updates without overwhelming you with phone calls! I am thinking of y'all every hour of every day and sending positive thoughts your way. By the way Abbey, my sister and Yuka & Tristan all send their love and are looking forward to hearing all about your recovery! I personally am looking forward to the "Kicken cancer's behind / Abbey Bday" celebration on Labor Day Weekend.

    Keep posting updates and we'll all keep checking. Did you ever find out when they expect to have the pathology report back?

    Sending you luv & "good vibrations";
    Luv,
    Jenny (& Damiano)
